Send Down The Holy Spirit
On September 3rd the Saint Mary's College Community gathered in Church to celebrate the Mass of The Holy Spirit, asking the Spirit of the Lord to bless the students, administration, faculty and staff for the 2010-11 academic year. The assembly lifted the roof of the Church as they sang the Lord's praises and called down the Holy Spirit - Fire, Fire, Fire, Fire Fall On Us! Jesus Christ is the reason for the existance of Saint Mary's College and He will certainly guide us as we all try to build his Kingdon, one student at a time.

Field of Dreams?
This morning 15 members of the Above Rocks Community joined the workers from the Church to spread sand on the playfield. Last Saturday a playfield committee was established consisting of members of the Past Students Association, Above Rocks Community and the Church. Working together we hope to develop a world class field where our student-athletes can shine. All went well for a few hours until the skys opened and the field turned into a lake. Life up here in Above Rocks!

Class of 2015 Arrives
Dressed in freshly pressed uniforms (girls wearing their "new lady-like" skirts) the members of the Class of '15 gathered with their parents in the Saint Louis Educational and Social Center (church auditorium) for their orientation session. We hope they feel welcome as the newest members of the Saint Mary's College Family!

A WORD FROM THE CHAIRMAN
Greetings in the Lord! As we sit on the eve of another academic year, I reflect on from where we have come and hope for what may still be. .
Over these past five years, throughout Jamaica and at times when foreign, I encounter St Mary's College Grads and hear stories of St Mary's. In many ways these are stories of the good olde days.
With continued attention to academic excellence and improvements, enhanced disciplinary and admission criteria, and promotion of Catholic Schools Initiatives we too can be "players" in the next string of stories about St Mary's College and the next generation of SMC Students can also tell stories of the good olde days.
I invite you to join the friars and sisters, administration and staff, the parents/guardians and past students of St Mary's in this most exciting and promising process throughout this academic year.
.
PEACE!
